DOMESTIC waste collection which was disrupted in Subang Jaya almost a week ago will be sorted out within the next seven days, ADUN Subang Jaya Hannah Yeoh said.

She said the change in contractors engaged by the Subang Jaya Municipal Council for domestic waste collection had caused a disruption to the schedule.

"We are aware of the inconvenience it has caused to many areas especially the residential areas in USJ. Some of these areas have not had their rubbish collected for more than 6 days."

"The critical areas are USJ3, USJ4, Good Year Courts, SS17 and USJ12. MPSJ has mobilised its resources such as lorries to collect the backlog of rubbish," she said at a press conference.

Hannah said the backlog was caused by the change of new contractors for rubbish collection.

"Many of the new contractors experienced teething problems. The drivers are also unfamiliar with the residential roads, thus missing out on many homes," she added.

Hannah said with MPSJ paying full attention to the problem, the council hoped to resolve the issue within the next 7 days.

"If you encounter problems of uncollected rubbish, contact your Rukun Tetangga or Residents Association representatives and give them the details. They will channel it to us for immediate attention," she said.
