ARE you thinking of getting back to nature with the family or friends? Hop over to Coleman's first retail concept store at Sunway Pyramid to get equipped before you head out to enjoy Mother Nature.
Coleman Brands Pty Ltd (Coleman), the trusted outdoor recreation expert since 1901, has opened its doors to outdoor enthusiasts with 500 lines of outdoor recreational products under the Coleman umbrella of brands that include Campingaz, Stearns and Sevylor. Selected trend-setting lifestyle products made exclusively for the Japan market are also available for the first time in the Malaysian market.
The 956 square feet flagship retail store is owned and operated by FM Retail Management Sdn Bhd. Both FM Retail Management and Momentum Strike Sdn Bhd, the new exclusive distributor for Coleman products in Malaysia, are subsidiaries of Wah Kong Corporation Sdn Bhd.
The outlet was launched by Coleman Asia Pacific vice president of operations Shunji Ohashi, Coleman Brands (Southeast Asia) general manager Jaime Lau, Wah Kong Corporation CEO PY Choy, Momentum Strike executive director Tony Lee and travel presenter Henry Golding who is the brand ambassador for Coleman in Southeast Asia.
"It is a historical step forward for Coleman in Malaysia after 26 years. Driven by a new exclusive distributor and the introduction of a wide range of exciting new products, we plan to capitalise on trends towards healthier lifestyles and help Malaysians 'Own the Weekend'.
"The brand is about bringing people together to make the most of every weekend and create fond memories," Ohashi said.

In conjunction with the opening, a three-day Coleman 'Own the Weekend' event will be held at Sunway Pyramid's Blue Concourse. A variety of fun-filled activities will be held to enable the public to experience and learn more about the wide range of Coleman outdoor recreational products beyond its well-known cooler boxes and tents.
"We are looking forward to taking the Coleman brand to new heights in Malaysia. Our strategy is to build affinity with the younger market by building a strong brand visibility and ensuring product availability and accessibility by facilitating easy purchase online," Choy said.
The company plans to open a second Coleman retail store in the second half of this year.
Coleman has also launched its very own online shop for Malaysia at www.coleman.com.my that enables it to reach out to fans outside the Klang Valley.
