SUBANG Jaya residents will get to enjoy family outings and activities at the Urban Forest Park located in USJ3C by the last quarter of this year.

Subang Jaya Municipal Council president Dato Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan said the RM2.84mil park will be ready in six months’ time.

“It will take us six months to fully implement the project. The project will cover an area of 7.86 acres.”

“The creation of this park is in line with the council’s Green City 2030 Wishlist,” he said at the ground-breaking ceremony for the park.

Nor Hisham said the new park will have an amphitheatre and plaza; jogging track; parcourse station; nature play park; walkboard; forest garden; wall climbing; open lawn; reflexology path; mountain bike trail; parking facilities; children’s playground; toilets and shelters.

“We will be planting at least 50 species of trees, flowering plants, herbal plants and forest trees. A total of 3,960 trees will be planted in this park,” he added.

ADUN Subang Jaya Hannah Yeoh who was also present said back in 2011, 1,111 trees were planted at the site.

“Having an urban forest park is important as our younger generation do not know what a forest looks like.”

“This facility will prove to be educational for everyone,” she said.
