Youths Kick Off 2016 with Tree Planting

MORE than 30 trees were planted by 43 youths in the open space along SS15/7 last month, marking the first effort to continue greening Subang Jaya for 2016. The early morning effort was joined by pre-university students from Taylor’s University who are also members of the Leo Club Mega. According to MPSJ Zone 1 councillor Ken Chia, the effort was jointly organised by JKP1 and SS15 Rukun Tetangga Hexagon. “We planted more than 2,000 trees last year. We plan to continue greening the areas under Zone 1 (SS12-SS19) this year.” “We hope to collaborate with more groups and residents to carry out our tree planting programme,” Ken said. More hands make lighter work, with the number of participants at the tree planting site, the morning exercise was completed in record time of 1.5 hours last weekend.
