THE wanted suspect who was involved in a high-speed chase with the police in Subang Jaya yesterday (Mac 14) may have been injured when police fired at the fleeing vehicle, according to Selangor Police Chief Dato Abu Samah Mat.
"Our investigation team found some blood stains in the getaway car which was abandoned near USJ12."
"It is however too soon to speculate. We are waiting for our forensics team to confirm that the stain is blood. In the meantime, the manhunt for the suspect is still ongoing," he said during the handing over of duties for Subang Jaya's police district chief between SAC Yahaya Ramli and ACP Mohammad Azlin Sadari.
Mohammad Azlin assumes the duties of OCPD Subang Jaya today.
Abu Samah said the getaway vehicle of the suspect was reported stolen last year in Shah Alam and police had recovered some items in the car.
"We will not be disclosing what we recovered at this point as the investigation and the manhunt for the suspect is still ongoing."
"At this point, there is only one suspect. We are also putting together a photo fit of the suspect based on the description of the witness and the police officers who saw the suspect," he said.
Abu Samah called on the public to remain calm and not panic while the police are carrying out their investigations.
